How to easily improve your Adsense Earnings without much work

If you are making money from Google Adsense and are running more than one ad block on a page, you might leave a lot of money on the table. Here is an easy way to improve your Adsense earnings. In general the very first Google Adsense block on your page carries the more expensive ads. These are the ads that earn you the most money. To make most out of your Adsense ads, these are the ads you want to have in the best spot on the page in question.

But how do improve your Adsense income now? First you need to identify which ad block is the one with the highest paying ads and which ad block is receiving the best click-thru rate. They might not necessarily be the same. Use different channels and monitor them for a few days to have good data to work with. Once you identified that ad block “A” is the one receiving the best CTR (Click Thru Rate) and ad block “B” is the one with highest paying ads you will need to make changes to your page or template to make sure that ad block “A” is loaded first when the page is called. It is very important to know that Google distributes ads on a first come, first serve basis. So the adsense block that the Google Adsense bot (Mediapartner) sees FIRST in your page’s HTML code upon loading, is the one that will show the more expensive ads. This is not necessarily the ad up on top of the page in your browser. Review your code if needed and make the adjustments.

Important: If you discover that one of your channels does not deliver more than one or two clicks per week anyway, whack the ad block. Less ads might make the page look better or use different advertisements options for that unit.

In one case where I finally got of my lazy butt and did the research described above I was able to improve Adsense earnings by ~15%. I still have more websites where I need to do this, but overall that is an easy way to increase your income without too much work.
