The Importance of building your Affiliate Website for organic traffic, too.

I build all my affiliate and PPC websites with SEO in mind, too. Organic traffic is kind of free (depending on how much you spend to rank hight) and free is always good. As a matter of fact, many of my sites are not promoted via PPC and run on auto-pilot in regards to traffic. And the best thing – they make money. There is another reason to build all your PPC websites as normal websites and promote them via SEO:

Keywords and Search Phrases

No matter how good your PPC keyword research is, you will be surprised what gems you might find when reviewing your website statistics. Any good website statistics program will show you the referring keyword or phrase a visitor has used to find your website. As a PPC affiliate marketer this data can be worth a lot of money. I usually go through and check PPC rankings for keywords or phrases that stick out and then eventually use those to improve my PPC campaigns with the new found keywords.

You can also plug those keywords into the different search tools – especially the Google Adwords Keyword Tool – to see how many people are using that specific term for their search. Another goodie – look at the keyword phrases in more detail. Often it helps you to understand how people search and you can use that to go back and increase your keyword lists based on that information.

Promoting a website via SEO works even in many highly competitive areas. I am currently in a specific health niche market where bid prices per keyword go up to $5.00 or higher. I cannot (yet) compete in that niche via PPC, but my website drives Ok traffic via SEO (roughly 250-300 visitors per day) and made me over $800 last month (for this month it is already at $350). This website is also my keyword research tool and lets me get into PPC marketing for that niche at one point – hopefully giving me an advantage compared to my competitors. I use PPC Bully to use those keywords and run them against the different search engines. It tells me who exactly is using these keywords and provides my with solid data for my PPC campaigns.
