Testing the Yahoo Directory

by Christoph on February 4, 2009

I just spent $299 on a website submission to the Yahoo Directory. I did talk to a very successful affiliate last week and while he did not share many secrets or tips, this was one of the few things he passed on to me. β€œThe Yahoo Directory adds trust to your website.” – This was the advice he gave me. When you are not super-rich or have super high income from affiliate marketing, spending the $299 without knowing if your website is going to be accepted can be a little scary. I carried this fear or concern way too long and this evening I finally went ahead and submitted one of my websites for review. Hopefully it gets accepted.

I have a second website where I am willing to make that investment as it could mean a lot to the future success of that website. The website already has over 1,000 visitors per day, but I think I can do better. I also need to rebuild the website and move it from EvoArticles to WordPress the same way I did it with another website of mine. I hope to get to it by the second half of February or early March. I am currently busy with one of the biggest transactions ever for my business and that will require my full attention for the next 10 days.

Anyway – I will provide updates on my Yahoo Directory Submission and how things turn out with that.
