Sitepoint Marketplace

by Christoph on February 6, 2009

Over the last 6 months I have used the Sitepoint.com Marketplace several times and I am really impressed by the results. I started looking for a content writer and for weeks I was bombarded with offers from really good writers. The I was looking for a developer to code some stuff for me and again I received huge feedback and found a good guy to work with. Then I sold a website and the feedback was great and the site sold in less than 12 hours. So, now I just posted a new listing looking for someone who can do work for me. I do expect similar results.

I used to use the Digitalpoint.com forums, but that place has gone to crap in regards to quality and reliability. 2 years ago that forum was a great resource for buying and selling websites and to find people doing some work if in need of a service, but those days are long gone. Nothing against people from India (there are some really good folks over there who deliver great work), but DP forums is swamped with newbies from over there who are just out for a quick buck and that kind of attitude is reflected in the shitty websites for sale and the bad quality of services purchased over there. People disappear after a while when things blow up and then they re-register under a different name just to start the same crappy thing again. No, thanks.

Sitepoint charges for most postings in their market place and that is cool as it really makes people think twice before posting shitty websites or bad services. So, I am a big fan of the Sitepoint marketplace.
