The budget crisis in Colorado is getting out of control. Several tax related bills are currently pushed trough the committees and the House. The democratic Govenor Bill Ritter is out to push businesses out of Colorado and to fully destroy the business environment. It’s almost unbelieveable how stupid this is. Ritter is hoping to fill some budget holes by taxing certain pieces, but this is going to backfire dramatically at him and the Democratic party in Colorado. The only problem – there will be a lot of damage that needs to be fixed and the victims will be small businesses and employes of large companies that can move certain operational procedures outside of Colorado.
Why am I writing about this? Well, I live in Colorado and my business income is under attack by several of these bills. The most critical one is the so-called Amazon tax that might become law. As a result many online retailers will end partnerships with businesses in Colorado – including my own. The situation at the State Capitol is critical. A committee approved this bill and let it move up to the house of representatives. There is not much time as the democrats are pushing these bills at a speed unknown to lawmakers in Colorado before. I wish these guys would have been acting that fast before the budget got out of control. And with these tax bills eventually going into law things will get worse.
